New Free Book Offers Legal Consumers Tools To Help Evaluate Potential Attorneys And Information About Deceptive Advertising Practices Seattle, WA – Mischelle Weedman-Davis today unveiled
The Smart Consumer’s Guide To Hiring A Great Lawyer. The book is a guide to finding and hiring the right attorney for cases such as car accidents, dog bites, and other injury cases. The guide is offered for free as a public service at
http://www.hiringagreatlawyer.com./ Mischelle Weedman-Davis is the client relations manager for the Davis Law Group in Seattle, WA and has years of direct experience working with individuals who are looking for a lawyer to handle their injury case.
“Most people are not the least bit litigious and have no real desire to file a lawsuit or hire an attorney. So it isn’t until they really need a lawyer that they give the idea much thought,” said Weedman-Davis. “By the time they figure out that they do need an attorney they are often desperate and in a hurry. In recent years it has became clear to me that people need some sort of framework in which to think about evaluating lawyers.”
The book includes details on eleven different evaluation criteria that people should use when choosing a lawyer and an evaluation form/scorecard for rating the attorneys that they interview.
Weedman-Davis, a 15 year technology marketing and advertising veteran for companies such as Microsoft, also devotes several chapters of the book to helping consumers understand and identify deceptive lawyer advertising practices. In the book she debunks attorney matchmaking web sites, online lawyer directories, yellow page listings, and television advertising.
“One of the other reasons for writing the book,” said Weedman-Davis, “is to call out some of the unethical marketing and advertising practices that are being used by attorneys and law firms all across the country.”
The 30+ page booklet is available for download and in paperback form. Some of the chapters include: Legal Matchmaking: The Truth About Attorney Finder Websites & Online Directories; Lawyer Advertising: Yellow Pages & Television Advertising; Attorney Evaluation Criteria: Characteristics of a Great Lawyer; Choosing Your Lawyer; and a Personal Injury Attorney/Firm Evaluation Form.
“
The Smart Consumer’s Guide To Hiring A Great Lawyer is a brilliant resource for anyone who wants to cut through the advertising clutter to find the right attorney for their case,” said Ben Glass, Virginia personal injury attorney and author of
The Truth About Lawyer Advertising.
